Default Can a nitrous line be shortened?

Alright so I'm embarassed. 6 months ago when I installed my kit, my main nitrous feed line briefly touched the battery terminal, and of course sparked. after looking at it, it had melted a FEW of the strands of steel, but was very negligible, and I chose to use it anyway. worked fine for the past 6 months. well tonight its beautiful out so I get the car out, and decide i want to try my new dynotune RPM activated window switch. bring the bottle up to pressure, purge it, everythings working great...and I spray it once. feels really good. I'm happy. pull off to the side of the road to adjust the RPM on/off on my window switch. get that all figured out. tap the purge once, and start to drive off slowly. next thing i know i hear a TENG!!!!! followed by hissing. I'm thinking, great....that automatic heater I worked so hard to adjust just over warmed my bottle, and made the burst disc pop. wrong! no nitrous is coming out of the car through the blow down. WTF?! GET OUT! pulled over and watched 60 dollars worth of nitrous fill my car. at that point i already know....the line broke.

sorry for the rant.

CLIFF NOTES: 4AN line has a small hole about 6" away from the end, can I take it somewhere and have it cut, and have the end compressed back on?

Thanks guys, I'm an idiot.

Heck yeah. Take the line to a speed shop that has the stuff Or check your local buisness park for a hydraulic hose sales. They make up pressure fittings all of the time. They can crimp a new end on there but I doubt it will be colored just silver.

You will have to find a shop that has the tooling to crimp a new hose end on. If there is no one in your town you can send it to us and we will do it for 10.00

I hate to be the one to tell you but you are going to have to pull the line off the car.
