Cutout Versus Headers
so assuming that i will be a stock 00 ls1 with 300-350 hp and 550 hp tops on spray, would a cutout allow beneficial exhaust flow through manifolds and cats for a 200 shot or should i go headers, no cats, no egr, and air? or could i even go without a cutout?

I know you guys have it rough there trying to mod a car and still pass smog tests. I have attached a dyno graph from back when my '99 Z/28 was bone stock except for an electronically operated cutout.
I was able to make 4 pulls, first two are with it closed, last two I hit the switch and opened the McCord Power Plate. Just to give you proof of what kind of gain you can expect.
there are no LTs that are carb legal in CA and the cats get moved or if taken off is more trouble. i know plenty of people out there are doing it, but i don't want to risk getting towed. i'm not worried about the 2 year smog test but more of patrols and the surprise roadside smog tests. i don't plan on allowing law enforcement to pop the hood or rummage through the car but cops do step over people's rights to verify their hunches.
thanks for the graph ChevyGoldfinger.
been leaning towards a cutout but want to make sure a 200 shot could flow through the stock exhaust. i'm looking at spending for $200 installed for an e cutout or $650-900 for the lpp headers, y, install, and aluminum to cover the undercarriage. anyone think that there would be a restriction where longtubes would be worth the money and worrying?
