i am building a 94 LT1 with a built computer and was wondering if i should use O2 censors or not.... i have heard that you need them so that the computer can compensate for air fuel.. but i would like to not run any....
So what are you going to do to monitor your air/fuel mixture? Your O2's are there to compensate for an inbalance in the system, whether caused by an improper spot in the tune, or by a degrading part of your fuel system, etc. If you eliminate your O2's i.e. run in constant open loop, without the means of monitoring your air/fuel and without means of correcting the problem if you're driving down the highway and something goes awry, then what will you do? I run mine in open loop only to tune, then I place the vehicle back in closed loop so it can correct my fueling to be as accurate as it can be. Based off of the information that you've provided in your extensive post I would say A: You're in the wrong topic section and B: Utilize your O2 sensors they are there for a reason.
