Default How long can a motor be sprayed?????

Take my motor for instance, consider a 150 dry shot?

I'm talking about spraying it from a 50mph roll to say 160mph.

Consider I have 500 RWHP N/A.

Thanks

Do you have a fuel system to handle it? I'd do it. Although I see no reason to do that, but if there were one, I would do it.

I have the Racetronix fuel set-up in there. I have 36 lb injectors, if they need changing, no biggie.

Why do you see no reason to do it? It would be that much quicker/faster. I've been learning that most people here in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami either have nitrous or FI or both. It's gonna suck to have such a nice stroker motor and everything else I've put into the car get beat by a stock motored Camaro or a Z06 with a 100 shot.

Thats how I look at it. I spent $14,000 on the motor already, whats another $1,200 or so for a spray-bottle to remove most doubt in a race.

From NOS's installation manual that came with my kit, it says that it doesn't recommend continuous nitrous flow into the engine for more than 15 seconds.

it wouldnt take 15 seconds for him to hit 160mph+ with the motor he's got and a 150 shot.

only problem i could see would be possibly detonation on the extreme top end because of the huge load that 160mph would put on the motor and using overdrive to get there.

your 4L60E tranny wouldnt last on top end either, not with 600+rwhp. now if you shut it off at 120mph or less, it would last longer, but getting up to those kinds of speeds really puts a strain on the tranny...

too heavy a load at that speed to spray.. this is going off what my friends who are mechanics w/ experience w/ nitrous say. i myself never sprayed past 4th gear.

Actually, most of the people around these parts like to go from 50 to about 130-140. I just mentioned 160. I'd like to do a 100 or 150 dry shot just to have that edge if I ever need it.
There are a couple cars that like to go from 50-200. A 840 RWHP Supra and this guy that just recently shows up at gatherings with a full race all-wheel drive twin-turbo Porsche, it has one seat, a roll cage and what sounds like open headers, it's sick. Neither of them will race anyone from a dig.

My friends stock Z06 with a 100 shot gets sprayed 6-7 times a week. He races from 50 rolls to 140+ every race, I've raced him to 160 a couple times.

His car has been doing it for 2 years and mine is built for nitrous.

Ok I disagree with the trans not holding up at top. That is more of a gray line. The trans are rated at 350ftlbs of torque factory, and I regularllyy see way more than that, spray outta the hole and ALL the way down the track, no window switch, no problems. Now 650+ form a dead stop, maybe thats a different story. I see no need to try a 50-160 roll, I live in Hawaii and no track here allows a rolling start. I dont street race, if thats what you are referring to.

I think if you set it up as a dry shot with bigger injectors...and did some tuning for the dry shot (see the other post in this section) to pull a few degrees and ran 100 octane you would be just fine running it that high.

I regularly run my 300 shot to 145-150 here racing the supras. They all want to run to super high mph. Something about Fl and roll racing...i dont know??

I would think you would be fine since you have a fuel and a built motor. If I had that motor I would spray the hell out of it on those Supras. All most of them want to do is run 160-195mph where they have an advantage. I have ran so many of them and havent had any problems running at the top of forth gear which is around 140mph I think? I have even sprayed a little in fifth

Any videos running single turbo Supras? Or how does your 700+ do against some high hp singles?
After my GTP's go on I have a few to run

You do not want to spray in any gear with a higher than 1 to 1 ratio. So I wouldnt recommend you spray after 4th.
