Really? hey maybe you can answer this for me. I heard that some of the 02 ss camaro's got ls-6 heads, cams, and intake manifolds is this true or just a rumor?

01-02 LS1's got LS6 style intake manifolds which boosted HP by 10-15.

Some of them also have found that they have LS6 blocks. As far as LS6 heads and cams... Don't think so.

im not bashing yours or anyone elses car, especialy not an LS1 car, but I dont think it will even be close to 10s. If it does post up some slips so we can all see how well it worked out for you . that way we can help out our f-body friends a lil too.If it is that easy. I may find me a hugger orange ss for myself.

You really have the get the entire combo to work together if you want to hit the right number. The gears you picked do seem a bit high for your motor. Along with that, if you want to get into the 10's without internal mods, you might want to consider a little bigger converter. You are going to have to pull some really good 60 ft. times in order to pull into the 10's. Otherwise, gut the car down to 3000lbs. or less. I would suggest getting a cam and worry about the heads later. Ported heads will only do so much without a cam. Honestly, if you upgrade to 3.73 gears, built tranny, 3200-3500 converter, 150 shot, sticky tires, and a decent nitrous cam... you would pull 10's easy with a good launch. Take a little weight out of the car by removing the back seat, and passenger seat (unless you want to go all out). All you have to worry about then is your rear end and driveshaft (unless you go ahead and upgrade that too).
