I'm at 6.5 fuel pressure on my last run and it was in the 10 afr range.
That was with 16 degrees.
So pull more timing huh?

I'll probably go ahead and use the 2nd stage just see what it will do to my times.
I still need to figure out what the timing needs to be set at, I guees I'll inch it up until the plugs don't like it.

You should be taking more out not putting it in. the is ALOT more power in it by leaning it out then by adding timing. TRUST ME.

99% of people hurt there nitrous motors by having it to rich then to lean.

If it was my car I would start with 12* of timing and take a 1/4lb of fuel out at a time until the plugs come out looking new or the car slows down. It will slow down before you hurt it as long as you dont have to much timing in it.

My A/F is around 12.5 for the 28 jets.

Thanks, I have a heads up race Friday that I'll have a chance to play with.
I appreciate you guys giving me some tips today.
If I can go faster than a 9.67 it'll be a new GTO IRS world record.

Doesnt sound like the tune up is to far off.

Take some timing out first and see if it slows down, if it doesnt leave it out and start leaning it out 1/4 lb at a time. Keep checking the plugs and good luck at the race !

Hope to see you posting up a new record.

So 6.5 psi isn't too low on the fuel pressure?

Chris, are you reading the plugs with a lighted magnifier to see where the fuel ring is at? If you arent doing this all you are doing is guessing. I should be out there sat and will stop by.

No, I haven't used a magnifyer yet. ( I have one) the plugs have looked really good. The heat spot is right on the bend of the electrode and color is pretty good too.
I think I have my launch figured out now, I just need to stretch out my ramp on the nirous alot more so I can leave with a little nitrous off the line.
I'm sure I'll get my *** handed to me but it should be fun.
I plan on making my qualifying passes Friday and then coming out for the last qualifying round Saturday at 6.

You arent seeing what you need colorwise until you look inside the plug. That tells the whole story there. Bring the magnifyer with you Sat.

If you can see color on the plug without a magnifier/lite its probably to rich.

What plugs are you using?

I would run 10's and if you spray more than 300 I'd go to 11's.

Also get a new set of plugs if you dont have some already and shut if off and the end of the track if you want to get an accurate reading. I think we can get a 30 or 40 out of it anyway.

That's how I usually check the plugs.
I've been running 9 NGK's but I ordered some 10's today.
I'm still a little on the fence about running a 2nd stage but I guess I'll wire it up tonight.
I'm thinking I can get at least a 50 out of it.
