Colonel, that's one heck of a time your posting with the Z28, all motor, that's amazing. Have any times for your Vette?
Now obivously you have a pretty wicked and well matched heads/cam combo to achieve this, but it is possible.

im going to have to dissagree with you if you're talking having both the intake and exhaust valves open simultaniously. with 4 cycle motors, you'll never have both I & E valves open at the same time. exhaust scavenging will help pull the exhaust OUT of the cyllinder, making it easier on piston travel in the exhaust stroke.

Re: huge shot limit?? Vents, in order to get the fresh charge in we obviously have to get the old charge out first. Well, you'll never get %100 of the old charge out but the closer you can get, the more room there is for the fresh charge.
