Default Safe hit?

Hey guys, you can see my sig to see what I got. Its a stock block and bottom end LS6. My comp is about 11.3:1 already, what would be a safe hit of nos to use without putting the motor in danger? The car runs 11.5's in good weather at over 120mph so I know a 100-150hp hit will have me in high 10's. What do you guys think? Thnx.

Im no expert, but you are probably already pushing the limits of the stock bottom end. I dont think there would be a safe hit to use on an engine already making enough power to go 11.6. Just my .02

If you take all the safety precautions I'm sure it will be fine on a 150 shot. Hell, it would probably be fine on a 200 shot if you are smart about it.

Since you are new to the nitrous world I would recommend talking to one of our sponsors like Matt @ Harris Speed Works or Nitro Dave, they can hook you up with what it's gonna take to spray safely. Don't skimp on the safety stuff and try not to get greedy and it will be fine.
If I were you I would start out with a NOS 5177 kit or something similar, it is a great kit for a first timer. If you prefer a wet kit I'd go with one of the sponsors single nozzle or plate kits, either way you go make sure that you hook it up to a wide band and watch the A/F while you are getting it dialed in.

From talking to various shops and tuners, the general concenous is around 550 RWHP w/ our C-5's start to get on borrowed time. That being said, many run 200+ shots successfully. Guessing your 450+/- so I think a hundred shot is a fair starting point.

As already suggested monitoring w/ a wideband when spraying for a proper tune may add to the longevity of the engine.

Like BAKED said, give the vendors a call and tell them your goals and your setup. Nitrous Outlet, HSW and Dynotune all played a big part in my setup, and are Sponsors.

Yeah, I might check out some sponsors for info on good systems. I dont wanna go above a 150shot and I'll probably be more comfortable with a 100shot. Thanks for the input guys. Now I hope my stock tranny keeps up. BTW, anyone heard about the LS-Series Nitrous System from ZEX? It says it has an active fuel control system based on bottle pressure so you dont run too lean or too rich and its hooked up to the TPS to work on WOT. Its adjustable from a 75shot to 175shot. Any word on this system?

Nitrous Outlet is a Zex Dealer, they can tell ya about it. Ray, Chris or Dave can help ya with that one.
