Want a cookie? Mid nines isn't slow and that run wasn't done on the 300. "9.58 last year with the old nitrous setup(NOS Single Nozzle getting supplied fuel off the Rail spraying 230hp). I then added a Stand alone Fuel System and NX Nozzle spraying 300hp. The first pass off the foot brake the car went straight on its bumper and cut a 1.34 with the Rear Tires."

How many people out there build forged 346s then never spray them or hit them with a 100 shot? Tons of people over build their cars and if you think I'm wrong you're delusional.

Sorry but, I call bullshit on this one.... Mid 9s on a stock bottom end with a 175hit????? I have a full weight 1998 TA with a 370 hitting it with a single stage DP 300 shot and all I go is mid 9s....

Let's clear something up - mid 9's IS fast. What I said is, it is not fast for a 300 shot.

My mistake on what I interpreted you to say about folks over built. I thought you were referring to guys hitting a 300 shot.

Gotta go find my pipe now...

not a hypo. its for my car and i wanted to make sure i wasnt wasting my money with a custom nitrous piston. i am moving forward with teh build to include good nitrous pistons. i dont care if i never reach a 300 shot. i will gladly pay an extra 300 bucks in my motor knowing its overbuilt. the pistons, to my knowledge, is the first line of defense....

figured i would make a post since i couldnt find a discussion like this one.

I'd agree with the 300 hp estimate.

Next and I went close to the same times with stock cubes but I needed more N20 to get there, maybe his tune up was better or maybe his car was lighter. there is more than one way to get there.

Custom N20 pistons will be much more forgiving on bad tune ups than an off the self piston. So if you learning or if you "think" you know how to tune a N20 car its a good idea.

Happy spraying!

Thanks John. I'm humbled.

Wayne - I had you beat on weight by a few elephants. I was 3220 in my race attire

I get sideways sometimes on folks just posting info about what they read, heard or think someone else did. Lot's of people read this stuff with the hopes that the info is dead on as they are spending their hard earned money on parts that can go boom. Ask ATV how hard it is to learn this stuff with your own wallet.

I think if your plan is to spray all season, or multiple seasons..and a lot of jet.. a specific piston should be used. Even at 150hp..

I went with the Diamond nitrous dome pistons... Really nice pieces, Ill snap some pictures tonight.

And just my opinion... Ill punch myself in the nads if I only run mid 9's on a 300 hit.

i went with off the shelf manley pistons because i have no dilusions of spraying over a 250. its only pilled for a 150 now and i have yet to even tune it haha. but when i had the motor done they said 300 was the max they would go on the piston. anything more then that and the build was going to get a bit more pricey and it didnt sound too appealing to me. just went with a good set of rings and am hoping my tune will be spot on or damn close to it.
