Key on power source, 10ga OJ wire?
I have an 02 ws6 and am looking for a key on power source for my nitrous relays, I found a few threads suggesting a large 10 gauge unfused orange wire that only has power at key on is "where it's at!!!" and that it should be under the drive side dash...
Well I took apart the drivers side dash and poked around a bunch and couldn't find it :-(
what is it wired to?
I just need to splice into it so I can run power to my relays that power the solenoids.
Thanks

There are a few different places you can tap into for power. Look for the pink wires as they are 12+ keyed. I usually just do one of the add-a-fuse connectors in the fuse panel. This way you're not over extending the use of any one circuit. You can get them at most local part stores and they are made by Little Fuse I believe.

Yeah, i'm using the pink off the traction control to power my switches. But the other is going to be responsible for powering dual inline nitrous solenoids( around 20 amps?) that's a decent amount of amperage for a smaller gauge wire, this is why I was excited about the 10ga oj wire I kept hearing abou :-)

I have my relay inside my car and two 14gauge wires from the relay going to the noids..I don't have a power source for the relay though...
I've searched all over, it looks like everyone powers their noids off the engine bay stuff...is there not good switched power source under the dash?!?!

That's not it, that line separates it's just shielding for like 4 other lines.
:-( some other post I found in the past said it was under the drivers side
Bets are off, found this.
"It's fairly easy. You'll find a bolt holding the fuse panel in place on the dash. Remove the bolt so you can move the fuse panel enough to be able to get your wire from under the dash (behind the panel) around the edge to the front. Put a spade (flat) connector on the end of your wire and plug it into the accessory port you want to use. Then just put the bolt back in to reattach the fuse panel."
So, even though only a 15amp maybe I can find a way to make it 30, not sure if it's just swapping out the fuse or what.

If you want a 10 gauge power wire on the driver side, use the pink as previously stated. It's located right at the ignition switch on top of the column. You can usually trace the harness until you find a spot you want to tap into it. I would not use orange as the solenoids would also have power in the accessory position. The pink is only powered when you have the key in the forward position.
Here is the ignition switch pulled down from the column (you don't need to do this, I had to replace the ignition switch in the wife's convertible). You can see the wires that are being spoken of.
