Has your "good friend" offered YOU an explanation for his failure to refund my money?

I will talk to his Boss today to see if he can call you.
Please keep in mind, this is not a priority of mine considering the only place I have in this is Kevin is a friend of mine.
I will contact him today and see if you guys can get this resolved.
As for it being on my board, I didnt like the way it was handled. It was purely speculation at that point and until facts were presented his name didnt need to be thrown under the bus.
Again I will do what I can to help this get taken care of.
On behalf of what could be a "bad transition" I apologize for your inconvenience.
Lets see if we can get it resolved as soon as possible so you can get started on your project.

You know Richard...f him, call the police in his area and give them the address, the name and the situation at hand. You've prob. kept all receipts, etc. I have seen this done on the board I frequent more often than Tech i.e. LS1GTO and the police will get involved. It's worth a try.

This is disgraceful...just to add insult to injury, you shipped the intake back to this scab and STILL hasn't refunded your money. I was able to sell the radar detector and get the one I want...but your situation is different.

He refused to send my money before I sent the intake. He was supposed to send my refund in the form of a USPS money order via Certified Mail on the same day I shipped the intake. When I sent him the tracking number he sent me a PM saying, literally, "The check is in the mail."
I'm not calling the cops over $200, not worth my time or theirs. Like I said in a post above, if he's willing to sell his reputation for $200, that's his decision. I'll write it off as an LS1 newbie "lesson learned". I should've gotten pics of the bottom of the intake and/or the part number.
I honestly don't think it was his intention to rip me off. I think he never verified what he had. Now, he accuses me of trying to pull a "switcheroo" on him by saying it wasn't a Z06 intake and asking for a refund.
You caught me. That's my master plan. I was gonna get rich $200 at a time ripping people off on Z06 intakes!! I'm 42 with a wife and kids, a job I've worked for 14 years and my own business, and a 401k that's worth over a quarter million dollars but this intake scam is gonna put me over the top!
Thanks for the offer but no thanks. It's not worth the effort. I've got some contacts in Houston myself and family in Beaumont. Used to spend a lot of time out there (way back in the 80's!).
According to UPS tracking the intake was delivered to him yesterday (2/9/09) at 1149 am. So now I'm out the intake and the money. Big surprise.
Kevin, I've been MORE than fair about this, even offered you alternative ways to pay me back (parts, payments, etc) but you've done NOTHING. FedEx me a payment before Friday 2/13/09 or this is going to get UGLY on all of the boards you frequent.

My only advice is generic and applies to both sellers and buyers.
Sellers: Verify that what you are selling is what you think it is. Usually not a problem but in the case of LS1/LS6 intakes it's worth checking visually or posting the part number to verify.
Buyers: Get pics and/or part numbers to verify what you're buying. If you're an LS1 newbie like I was, ask someone or read this board to educate yourself.
