Wintery tires

Wintery tires What tires are you guys liking for our cold season? I need some new ones to DD on with my Camaro, but they need to be < $100/ea. I've been looking at the General Altimax HP's. I'll probably go with 245/50/16 on my stock rims then slap on my purdy c5 z06's when the sun comes back. Any suggestions appreciated.

Winter is only going to be another month or two.. Can't stick it out? If you have lasted this long with the tires you got on there, might aswell wait till summer comes, and you can buy them cheaper, or better ones.

i went the whole winter with my bfg g force kd's lol that was .....welll interesting , when there is a disclamer saying "these tires are not ment to be drivin in near freezing or snowy conditions.." lol but yeah it just made driving a more of a pain in the ***.. but i have a truck too but a couple of times i got cought off gaurd there we have been getting weird amounts of snow off and on here in oregon this season..id wait man, i think you have alotta time to figure it out by next season? lol but i herd les schwab has a sick studless snow tire my bud said that said that works there. he says it works insane i guess.. i dunno the name of it off hand tho..
I had Sumitomo HTR+ on my Formula when I lived in KS and they did really well in the snow. I now have a set on the stock wheels for my corvette.....I don't really drive it in the snow if I can avoid it, but they're good low priced tires.
