Default converted from 6spd to stalled A4

Here's the carnage pic that started everything. Been wanting to do an auto conversion, so made the most of it. Here's the damaged trans with snapped output shaft.



Got mine back today from Turbo Tech. They did a great job. No rattles or shakes. It drives smooth with firm shifts from the Level 6 RPM trans, and is a joy to drive. The combo of transbrake and 2step is ridiculous fun, and I haven't even launched it yet.

The power is absolutely SICK from a stalled A4 twin turbo with 3.42 gears. Mostly easy driving so far, with average 19mpg. I layed into it a little and sideways at 55mph was very easy. Need to finish fine tuning before attempting the dyno or racing, but shouldn't take long.

I asked them to leave the pedals while I decide what to do with them. I will probably end up swapping a fat brake pedal. Took this picture that's funny. Ever seen an auto vette with clutch pedals?

Did you have a diff brace when you snapped the output shaft?

I bet it's fun!

Yes, had a DTE brace on the 6spd. The A4 got braced too, but required some custom fab to make it work..

Very nice. I love 6 speeds, but if mine grenades, err, when mine grenades i'll be hitting a certain someone up.....

Yeah, the way YOU drive, we're all surprised it's still together! I lost the pool by the way, so blow it up anytime....



That's a nice paper weight Chris! Sticks are more fun to drive, but WAY more expensive when you make as much power as you do. I think you'll be happy with the track times too!

Man it drives like a different car with A4, and the converter added major low end grunt. Puts me right into boost and I'm sideways. I tried a 75mph kickdown and left black hiway stripes. I wiped out the first time today 45mph onramp, spun it off the frikkin road! Just a good drift gone bad... I'm very lucky I only picked up some mud and rocks. Gotta learn the feel of auto, it's alot different but I like it. I might wanna run the ET Street full time. Respeck da poWa!

That's another reason I like manual tranny's, much more predictable but then again I'm sure once you get some miles under your belt with the new trans it'll be just as predictable.
