porting heads price?

porting heads price? on a set of ls6/ls2 heads..casting 799
just wondering how much a shop would charge to make them flow 280cfm, i believe they flow almost 260@600 stock

I work with a guy(and am good friends with him) that ports heads on the side and does an awesome job. He said to port my heads it would cost an average person(meaning anyone but me) probably $300-$500 depending on what the person wants. That would be minus the Valve job. He says he likes to pay himself $50/hr porting heads.

its hard to beat aftermarket cnc ported heads like patriot or prc.
most come with all new valves, upgraded springs etc...
try duplicating that with a set of ls6 or 5.3 heads, will cost you more.
even with a good deal on the porting, you still have to buy new valves and springs, buy the heads, and then you have to pay to have them ported.
i sold my ls2 heads....
