Default Emissions question?

So I'm in Iraq right now an soon after I get back i'll have to get an emissions test done on my car. They changed the policy on base awhile back for vehicle registration-before the change your vehicle could be registered out of state an you wouldnt need an emissions test to register the vehicle on post-well now thats not the case an im a little worried. When Ellis tuned my car after the H/C work he tuned out the emissions stuff (or at least i think he did) because i dont get an SES light for anything. However when i hook my code reader up to the port i get a code for the EGR? but no SES light? I'm not sure how this is gonna go because ive heard for emissions testing in WA all they do is hook your car up to the scanner an if you dont throw any codes then your fine-can anybody give me any insight? can it be tuned out even more? Hopefully ellis or mark will chime in. thanks

Ellis is over on the LSXnation website.

Are you getting a test code? I think you are allowed one test code. In any case, he should be able to make it pass.

Most states that deal with OBDII systems, there has to be no codes scanned, SES light doesnt matter. All of the codes need to be fixed or turned off. Also the car needs so many drive cycles to ready the monitors. So simply clearing coded and going through will fail you.

In CT where I live, if I fail, it goes to the emission rollers, which I would want to avoid if at all possible.

If he used efilive or hptuners to tune it, you have three options for turning off a dtc code. He should be able to turn it off from reporting the code to the pcm when you get back... Probably just accidentally set it to not set the light but still report to the pcm, its just a pull down menu with three settings for each dtc easy to click the wrong setting....

In oregon to pass deq they simple scan your computer for any dtc's, if there is none and all the flags have been reset you pass.... So you sholdn't have a problem after he fixes it..
