Lost a good friend....
A close friend in his Vette going about 100mph on the interstate had someone change lanes in front of him. He swerved, hit the divider and went airborne. The car went over the lane divider and landed upside down in the oncoming traffic, skidded several hundred feet, hit an Explorer and a delivery truck. He died at the scene, his passenger, another friend, had only minor injuries. He leaves behind a wife and 2 teenage boys......
His familiy and friends lost a wonderful man to very unfortunate circumstances. He will leave a huge whole in the lives of his immediate family, and a big hole in the hearts of ALL who knew him well. He was truly the first guy there and would truly give you the proverbial "shirt off his back."
This thread is intended to be therapeutic to all who come along. Share a story; pass along your thoughts; or just read it, think about it and move along in your world. I do, however, exhort you to move along in a different way. Smell the flowers, tell your spouse you love them, hug your kids real tight, call that friend you had meant to chat with, apologize and mend fences with that certain someone, especially if they are a family member. Whatever it is, just do it. You may not get the chance to do it and they may not get the chance to hear it or feel it. May God richly bless and keep all of you and Happy Holidays!

All of us need one from time to time.
My view is a bit different - I'm wondering if there is something his family needs at this time? The mindset where families will never have their husbands, fathers or brothers come home ever again is part of my daily life. We (us wives) tend to focus on the family and something that can be done for them - I'm inclined to ask everyone here to find out the ages of the kids and send something for them by December 25th.
