Does it have to be a LT1? I know of a red LS1 Camaro for sale by where I work. They want just under 10k for it and it looks immaculate.

They can't be that hard to find, unless your looking for a really nice one for something like 4000. I would suggest either going with a 93, 95, or a 97. I have specific reasons for each. The 94 and 96 I would only pick up if I found one in excellent shape for a really good price. I think if I was buying one again It would be between a 93 with an M29 tranny or a 97. Shoot I've seen nice 97 WS6's for 6-8K....

my price limit would prob be 8k at most, 7500 preferably. Im not really picky i just want to get a good deal. I know i can find one, just right now nothing too get is popping up. I really wish i could find a 93+ trans am 6 spd ttops, that would be my dream car right there (reasonable dreamcar ofcourse) but ofcourse i like the camaros too. basically just just wanna find a well maint lt1 with good mileage.

Tell you what with that budget hang on and you will find it, don't settle at all cause you can get a BAD *** LT1 car for that price.

I sold my 93 6sp with probably 10K easy in mods and in very good shape, still runs mid 12's now and I sold it to a guy on the east coast for 6k.

Firehawk hood
LT4 Hotcam kit
Ported heads
Headers
17 WS6 wheels
Lowered with Kyb AGX shocks
Torque arm
NEW carbeau seats
97 gauges update and center console
Mcloed single disc clutch

ETC ETC ETC

I've seen better deals since then so they are out there!!! For 8k I would have nothing less than an 97 WS6 6sp with T-tops less than 80K. Maybe hard to find put definately possible....

yeah for 8k you could pick up a nice LS1 car a Z28 or a Formula. Hell I bet I couldn't sell my loaded 98 Z vert with extras for more than 11K...and that would have to be the right buyer...

haha i dont want THAT much of a beast. Ill pretty much drive it everyday (small commute) except in bad weather ofcourse, but i still want it to be reliable etc.. pretty decent gas mileage as well. i would like to keep stock heads and maybe just a cam for a while, maybe ported heads or what not, but that would be about as extensive my mods would get for a while

I got my 97 with just under 50k miles, and it is in pretty damn good condition. Plus it is a special edition. I paid $9k, I probably could have got it for $8500, but I'm not fretting anything. $7500 should be enough for a good LT1 with <60k miles.

OH daddy likey. man sometimes the LT1 bug hits me a little bit. Maybe I'll sell the truck and buy an LT1 for a Daily driver. I bet I can find a nice one for 4K! Shoot maybe a Caprice for a grand and pimp it out.
