New Car
The best part of all of this is that while we did give up a kick *** car (the Hawk, not the Celica...) I think we have gained a car that has most of the performance of the hawk but far fewer of the annoyances. It is much quieter and much smoother riding. The seats are nice!
What I think I like the most is that I was trying hard to keep the Firehawk in perfect condition and as unmolested as possible. Basically it took a lot of the enjoyment out of it. This car I can do whatever with and not feel an ounce of guilt

Also, I dropped the Firehawk off at the dealership to have the recently started piston slap evaluated. That's the whole reason I was even there! The piston slap was pretty excessive and only developed in the last couple of months Teresa drove it. It would last in the 2 minute to 3 minute range and I got the distinct feeling that the dealer was going to try to tell me that it was normal. Now I guess I don't care
Instead of picking up the firehawk tomorrow I should be picking up the GTO
As a side note... did you ever notice how you always seem to trade or sell a car just after you fill up the gas tank or change the oil? At least this time I turned it in with less than 1/8 of tank of gas, but it did have only 20 miles on fresh Mobil one

Instead, I actually got a 2004 for a pretty decent price, got the best price going for my trade-in and best of all... it's all paid off.
BTW, I forgot to thank you for pointing out that Red Firehawk in the local area that priced way under what I was asking for mine. That was helpful, too.

Besides, 400 hp is only a few mods away... Hell, after the warranty is up this would be great candidate for the SLP 402 bottom end
Like I said I feel like we can drive this and eventually mod it guilt free.Cory

You never did say how much you wanted for the Hawk.Where did you get the car? Was it at Haselwood? Like I said, I love the GTO's. I totaly agree with you on the styling also. Thats why I am a Camaro guy, over the Pontiacs, I like the laid back style.

They also sell things for Camaros

My oldest just got his learners permit, my wife drives a 96 Grand Cherokee which is the family wagon, she thinks her Jeep would make a good safe ride and she wants a Saab convertible. Yes that's right a Saab convertible
, I've trying to talk her into a Goat.

That car is going to be a blast to drive. Does it have the same drvetrain as the Corvette?
