I've been propositioned... Not like that you sicko's! 
I had just pulled of the lift at the exhaust shop after getting the pipes run out the back, and was sitting there throwing some revs to see what it sounded like. I was quite satisfied to see my two buddies standing behind the car clap their hands over their ears and grimace in pain. So I shut her down and get out, and start walking into the office to pay. As I'm headed over some guy runs over from across the street and stops me, and the conversation goes like this:
"Hey man, is that your car?"
"Yeah..."
"You race?"
"Yeah..."
"For money?"
"I've been known to..."
So, he says he has an 87 Mustang 5.0 and wants to set something up for when the roads are dry. I said sure and I got his number.
Not sure if I really want to go through with it. My car's not really setup for a drag race yet. The fact that he didn't really seem to be interested in what my setup was makes me suspicious, as well. I was also warned by the guy that did my exhaust that there are a few 10-11 second 5.0's in the vicinity. But, I might see if I can get him to bite for cheap. I haven't been in a "real" dead nuts street race since I sold my 79 Fireturd.
Just wanted to share! It was kinda cool to get that kind of attention finally. All the ricers seem to be intimidated!

Then I thought of the huge cloud of white smoke as I fry my tires into oblivion! Heh, even with the GS-D3's I have on there now, I burn the tires all the way through 1st gear, even launching from a 10 MPH roll. As soon as I hit about 2K RPM traction goes bye-bye. Maybe if I had some Nittos... but then I'd need a 12 bolt... and a clutch... and some LCAs...
But maybe he'll go for cheap, then I won't feel bad about getting spanked! Or just maybe I'll blow his doors off! If I set something up, I'll be sure to bring the video camera!

Are those #s in your sig rear wheel or engine? If it's rear wheel, he better have an 11 sec 5.0! But they are around. I know a couple turboed 5.0s that run good. There's a black one with blue flames on the front that was running low 12s when last I saw him at the track, and he was having boost leak issues. There is a white one with a bulging hood that was running 11s before he blew his motor, so he could be in the 10s now. These are both north-end cars. What did the guy look like?

That's my problem with a street race... my traction on street tires just blows in 1st & 2nd gear. If I push the pedal to the floor in either of those gears at any time, the tires just go up in smoke. 3rd gear is a little better, but I can still hear the tires making an extra revolution or two.
