I've done this for several years (yes, before you moved here, Eric) using an el-cheapo blower, but I hear the best results are the higher speed blowers (200+?).

It keeps me from touching the paint as much and dries 90% of the car in 25% of the time.

If you go this route just make sure it's electric because I hear the gas ones can spray some gook from its motor.

I'm sure you can find a ton of posts of this subject in the detailing forum.

Are you sure I didn't give you the tip???? Yes, blowers are the way to go and they get the water out of those spots that you can't see. Nothing I hate more than towel dry the car and see the water seep out of cracks leaving spots or trails.

When I was detailing cars we would take an air compressor and blow out all the little cracks. Not sure of speed of the air but I would geuss it was 200+

Man that is super idea I've never heard before. My car is black and in the summer it's almost impossible to wash the car and wipe it down (absorber here too) without it spotting in some places.

Thanks for the heads up!!

Tell me about dealing with black cars, My husbands Show/race car is black & I spend an hour to two hrs cleaning the car the day before the show & sometimes the same amount of time the day of the show doing detail work & its a PITA.

Yes, a leaf blower is definetly the way to go. I does not matter which type or brand you choose, they all blow air. You will definetly be happy with the results.

Leaf blower huh? Hmmmm... that sure beats towel drying. Hell, that's almost as easy as just letting the car dry naturally... don't ask me how I know about that.

I have used them and they can be helpful.

Two things though:

1) Electric ONLY, gas ones will get chemicals/gas/etc sprayed onto your car's paint and that is nooooooo good.

2) Be careful as you can very easily hit the car with the end of the blower and scratch your paint, especially if your arms are getting tired from holding that sucker up there.
