I have that weird disorder where if I like something and treasure it (this can be somthing small as a pen) I will keep it as perfect as I can and sometimes not use it which makes me very happy.

Yep I am weird but NOT DANDEROUS!

Taking my car to the track is purposely abusing it against the above principle, I treasure it. Some folks wear their new shoes all the time and say that is what I bought them for. My shoes sit in the corner until a special occasion. I do not polish my shoes and not walk in them to have satisfaction but I will polish my car and not drive it and get complete satisfaction from it (I am not crazy enough to do it to my shoes, lol).

I will my car to the track again but I need to know it will perform perfect and want to beat everyones best time. That is a goal I have (It may never happen). I am very competitive, racing is secondary though. I just know the car is not there yet and do not see the need to beat it up trying something that is not ready for...yet. I have two more pieces of a puzzle to complete then I will be ready for the track, but they are not on the quick list.

The other part of my story...
When I was in High School me and my friends talked endlessly about "The Beast Within" a car we wanted to build that looked pretty much stock on the outside like a COPO Camaro but had huge ***** in it and the engine was amazing. I am not by any means there but I am loving maybe having this dream come true. At times I want to call my friends in Ohio to let them know, just have not talked to them in 20years, so no point.

Crap there I go again, need to shut up!!!

Oh yeah, video is helpful with the learning process... one of the biggest things you can see on video is the weight transfer (or lack thereof) as Bill described. After seeing a few videos of my car's launch, I can see what I have to do suspension wise to get it to plant better. You can also see your reaction opposed to the other driver, which is helpful for bracket racing.

!!!
I know exactly how you feel. I struggle with this on my bike that's purpose is run wide freakin open in the mud. I've had to resort to having my kids clean my bike, if I do it I have it looking so good I don't want to ride it.

Nice vid man.

Can you convert analog to digital? I used to have a video capture card but it only works with Win98 and older. My new machine is XP so the software doesn't work for me anymore.

Cool video Josh! I would only suggest getting on the control tower side to catch the left front tires coming off the ground on Jason & Ryan's cars.

I think we need to get some moderator to change rookies nick name to Capt Video. All those in favor? And then we need to make that burnout video. Before I get new tires!!! I'll work on a place.

LOL works for me...

and my dad was on the tower side and if he goes next time I'll make sure he zooms in ok and we'll have a tripod for the camera. Plus he'll zoom in on the times. Afterwards I noticed he didn't zoom in on the times and he wishes he had but I told him no worries he still did a good job. When I get my own camcorder I'll see about mounting it in the car for in car runs too.

nm it's back up... I really need to get cable so I can just host it at my place. the 128kbps upload speed of my DSL just wouldn't cut it. (just to reference... since I put the video up yesterday around 1-2pm PST as of 1am PST it had 193 hits and 466,619KB of bandwidth transferred.) So far for the month of march I've had 1,302,376KB transferred from SCCoW.com lol... I need more money so I can just have my own pipeline.

I've got webspace (I own SCCoW.com, got it when I owned a Thunderbird SC and still webmaster it for them), just the host I have it on goes down every once in a while. Just want more control.

Capt video i like it i will have to get a cage mount for that one, but it would be bad ***.

And yhea steave you can learn alot from the vids, when i am in the car i am concentrating so much on driving that it's hard to tell what the car is doing, thats why fraser is so helpfull.

i would recomend getting on the far side of the stands by were you turn off the track back to the parking lot, it would probely be the best vantage point.
