My thoughts have always been this (and I mean no disrespect to ellis or anyone else) but if it works for you then stick with it........I tend to take a concenseus <sp?> of "reviews" of products into account when I look at something new to me, but the bottom line is if I like it, want it and am happy with it.........to each, their own.

I've had an Optima in my Camaro for about 6 years now. Sometimes it'll go 3-4 months without starting it. It always fires my BBC right up NP so I've had extremely good luck with mine. Now the oem bat in fbodys is a POS ( from my experiences anyway )
1. Optima
2. Diehard
3. Interstate

That kind of the order of preferance for me at this point. I've never tried one of those lightweight drycell's. I might go that route the next time I have to. I'd definitely pick one with similiar specs to stock. I wouldn't want to have any problems while re-flashing the ECM or something like that

I have an Optima Red in my car, I love it but I have to run the car at least once every three weeks when it's cold out or it doesn't have enough charge to start the car. I probably have an electrical issue somewhere, though.. just too lazy to look for it.

Ever thought of putting in a Hawker battery? About the size of a cigar box.

I'm shopping for a battery right now... my original AC Delco is about 4 years old. It failed a battery test yesterday at Advance Auto Parts.

I think I may just get the Interstate. They're pretty heavy duty from what I remember about them 10+ years ago.

Both interstate and optima are probably the best 2 to choose from. From what I understand, Interstate still makes a high quality product.

Well, I was going to buy my tried and true Interstate... but then I found out Optima has a 3yr warranty on their batteries.

So I thought I'd try something different and see what the hype is about... and try Optima. It does have some sweet CCA's!

You'll be hard-pressed to beat the Costco price on an Optima Red - its just too bad that they only carry the 75/35's since I needed to find a 34R for my Subie not too long ago. I ended up finding it online for cheap, but shipping is a killer on these things.

IMO, you'll be happy with the red top - my SS doesn't start much and it gets driven even less, but never a problem with my Optima (well, that and the Battery Tender).
