Intake Porting I know a lot of you are not LT1 guru's But i was wondering what a good price for a ported LT1 intake manifold is. I see one for 275 shipped good/bad. thanks a lot for your help!
$275 can be good or bad depending on how much work they actually put into it. Sometimes they show up with nothing but the casting marks removed. That would not be good value because you can do it yourself for a few bucks and hour or so.
On a LT1 intake they CAN make the roof of the runner straight. Stock LT1 intakes have a little bit of a bump that narrows the height of the runner- eliminating this is good. It should also be gasket matched to the intake gaskets and cut to accept a 58 mm tb. Ideally, you should see all the runners smoothed in my opinion.
