Default Stroker wanted! Is my $ bad?

I don't get it. Two places (Tbyrne & Scoggin Dickey) are having GPs on 402 iron block strokers right now (roughly 10% off) and I have posted, pm'd & emailed KJ @ SD & Tom @ Tbyrne with technical questions about my application & neither one has answered me. All I want is some stinkin info so I can decide which one to send a check to. Is that so bad? I thought they wanted my money.....

I don't really know if your money is bad or not, maybe you should let me try some of it out as kind of a test ? I have noticed that at times sponsors can be a little bit indifferant, but you would think they could muster up a little attention over a possible shortblock purchase Maybe a separate post in the GP section that's a little more blunt might be the ticket ?

I was wondering if you would offer to come to my aid on this.

Yeah, you would think someone wanting to buy one of their shortblocks would get their attention. If I had time during the day I would call them, but it's been rather busy of late. Maybe I do need to make a post...

Funny thing is I think I've answered most of the questions myself by digging around tonight. I still haven't figured out if Diamond Pistons are worth $300 more than Ross Pistons. Might be worth that much to NOT buy another SLP product....

Might also try Combination Motorsports... they have a nice 408 package that I'm sure they'd like to sell you. There's also lots of other builders out there who will give you the right kind of attention when buying a complete shortblock like that...

Yup your money is bad, go ahead and hand it over and I'll take care of it. Just trying to be a good friend.

Ha ha, funny woman. Don't you have some laundry to do?

I finally talked to Kris @ SDPC. He said he has a motor sitting on the shelf ready to go. And he said with 71cc chambers (std on 6L heads) I'd end up with around 9.6:1 cr. At ~ 8 psi, this seems like a pretty good number. He could however order me some -18 cc dish pistons for an extra $100 that would take 2 weeks to get there & then I'd be around 9.3:1.

So motor heads, got any opinions? Both are Diamond pistons with file cut rings setup for 12 psi or 150 shot.

Who's going to do the work for you? I'd love to be there during the process, to observe.

Best thing to do when a sponsor has a GP is to call them directly. Most of the larger sponsors and especially the smaller ones only have one person that handles emails. Sometimes that is the owner/engine builder and tech line guy all in one. So they get swamped really easy. And most of the GP just arent for this board. They laso hit ls1.com, and a number of the vette boards.

Go for the 9.3 number This gives you exactly what we wanted with a little room for expansion

Actually I could use a small bottle of silver paint. You know, the stuff they sell at the dealer that would match the GTO.
