First mods
I did the first mods to the "new" engine in my pickup in preparation for drag racing on saturday. I installed an air foil in the throttle body and descreened the mass air flow sensor. Don't know if they helped any.
I also bumped up the timing 4 degrees, and that really woke it up!!
I also put in a new vacuum line and re routed it so that it wasn't kinked so my brakes will work a little better (but what do you really expect on a 30+ year old truck...at least it has front disks).
And finally I hooked up my radiator overflow tank. Now here's the bad news. When I was hooking this up I heard a hissing noise. After some inspection I noticed some bubbles along the radiator. So it has a small hole in it. So, unfortunatly I think that puts the truck out of commission for drag racing. Its not leaking coolant right now, but I'd hate to push it at the track and open a big hole in it and spill coolant all over the track....think people might be pissed at me.
Maybe I'll race my car at the track now, but I don't have a helmet and my line lock isn't hooked up, so I don't even know if its worth messing with it.
