Thumbs down Boise Dyno

I've got all the bolt ons, + LT's 2.5"TD's, 228 .575 112LSA cam... and I'm in the process of learning how to use HP TUNERS... Without any kind of tuning done I went to a dyno day down in san diego when I was stationed their and had a max hp of 346 and 336 tq... I've done some tuning since then and I went to meridian today to pull some AFR's... on their dyno I had 261 hp/600lbs of tq They tried to explain to me that their dyno is a 'real' dyno becuase it uses real world blah blah blah, and sandiego is closer to sea level...well no **** but 600 tq??? give me a break and sea level cars have 80 more hp

The guy doing the dyno kept telling me about this LT1 motor that came in with '$45,000" worth of work done by a engine expert in Texas and it had 600 hp... He kept refering to my car as a LT1... after about the 3rd time I told him, actually this has a LS1 in it (98) and he goes on to tell me their pretty much the same and then this other guy that works their asks me if they still make camaro's, and I tell him no... and then he wants to know if Corvettes weigh more than camaro's... IDIOT

OH and then on my gragh sheet... "1998 Chevrolet Camero"

Tell me someone in Idaho can point me in a better direction....

Sorry for what sounds like a very bad experience. When I lived in east Idaho I always had to go to Salt Lake City for a decent dyno and people that weren't idiots. I don't know performance or dyno shops in the Boise area.

What shop did you go to? the only one I know of used to be in a place called "the hot rod shop" on Orchard st. if IIRC. And they seemed to have their stuff together.

I went to 'Merirdian auto and machine' I dont know if it was a bad day for them, or if that is as good as it gets... The only way they could get me a AFR was by welding a bung into my my exhaust right after the Pass Side LT... The dyno in cali just put a couple sensors in the exhuast, but the guy said that would'nt work... 5 minutes and 50 bucks later I had a bung installed... Hopefully the AFR's that got pulled were right.. not making the trip a complete waste.

Anyway - When are you going to bring your car out with us? We go out every friday night and sometimes on saturday.

Give me a call if you want, 407-2228 (Chris)

I cant tell you where to dyno at right now, but in 2 or 3 months Performance Solutions is going to have a brand new AWD dyno. Go to them and ask for Matt. That guy knows his ****. Hes going to build me a 383 setup early next year, just in time for firebird to open back up again. hehehe
