Time for an alignment......Boyce, Bill.........
Then I had them do my truck after I rebuilt the front suspension. I put it back to aligned as I could (eyeballed the contol arm rod....sets caster) , but took it in anyways. Well the after the first time, it would pull to one side worse than what it did before I brought it in. So then I took it in a second time and they "fixed" it. It still pulls. Then the guy (same guy as above) tells me they really shouldn't be warranting the work cause my truck is lowered......and went on and on. This guy thinks he knows it all, and I really should have complained to the manager about how he treated me....oh well. I won't be going to les schwab any more.
I wonder how that drag racing set up would handle on the street?

If roads were perfectly flat "Tramming" wouldn't exist. What's happening is that road surface irregularities contact the tire either to the left of, or to the right of tire center. Caster provides a mechanism thru which the left of, or right of center forces can act on the steering input. The weight of the vehicle gives these forces their power, which is one of the reasons why under heavy braking the forces are much more pronounced.
The more caster you have, the worse the affect. The heavier the car, the worse the affect. The wider the tires, the worse the affect. The more track oriented the alignment, the worse the affect. The sloppier the suspension is, the worse the affect.
There's a braking zone going into T2 at Pacific that has a deep line/crack that you need to stay to the right of to be perfect. On my car if I don't hit this zone perfectly and leave my left side tire in this crack, when I'm at maximum braking at about 130 mph "Tramming" causes my whole car to wag back and forth with such force that sometimes it almost gets me sideways. Running down the freeway south of Seattle has some area's that make it pretty interesting to keep the car in my lane as well. Just the price you pay to have your car setup for tracking
Thanks Bill. I just rotated my tires, front to back, back to front, on both sides. My rears were basically bald and squared off due to tire spin. Since I did this my car is pathetic in those ruts. 10x worse than it was before I rotated my tires. I'm thinking the squared off wear pattern of the rears now on front is the culprit.
I am guessing after a while the fronts will wear/scrub off into the caster and camber setting of the vehicle and it will be back to normal.
And, as you stated, I do notice this effect is multiplied when applying the brakes. Almost to the point of changing lanes unless I really muscle the wheel to keep it straight.
That area in lynnwood from 196th to 164th is the absolute worst area in the state for my car. Good thing we have a crack DOT team on the case.
Ellis told me I need an alignment after the shocks and springs.
Okay, guys. Sorry I went silent. I was in California the last 2 days.
How about Sunday? Say around Noon. There's no home Seahawks game and I don't think Mark's bar will be here today, so that looks like the best time.
I'm going to try to make it to Hooters tonight so maybe we can hook up then.
Thanks!

I can't do it this weekend, but all next Sunday is open for me, if that works for you. I have next Saturday open until around 4pm if that fits your schedule as well.
Sorry to have to do this guys and gals, but some things have come up and I need to cancel today.
We will have to reschedule for some time in the near future.Don
