Dyno results for the brute.

Dyno results for the brute.
Ok, took it to the Dyno yesterday and she put down 427 / 455 first pass. The guys yanked the carb, rejetted it, change the acelerator pump spring etc. and we went again. She maxed out at 437 / 460 while spinning on the Dyno. We tried changing tire pressure but still had a big wobble in the graph on all runs. Man that TH400 is eating a lot of power. They did get the A/F dead on and got rid of a nasty hesitation it had. I got a fresh pair of QTP's to put on today so maybe I can sneak back up there for another run or two. They figure she's making about 580 at the crank. Time for a manual shift valve body I guess.

Those are great results
Turbo 400 and 700r4's suck about the same in case you ever want to change out...
The hp number is more like 550 Flywheel (which is a great number for that combo)!
Was that SAE corrected? You got to watch those dyno guys, some times they forget and leave the last import correction in there....

Nah, Meridian Performance MPS up in Bellingham. They did 10 runs with A/F, pulled and rejetted the carb, played with the timing and A/F for 1.5 hours. The cost? $162.00. These guys do big blocks for a living and have 6,7 and 8 second cars all over their walls. They know their ****.

It puts ya in the seat. I'm thinking about a TCI 4400 flash stall for it.

A 3500 "10 inch" flashed to 4500ish in my friends 439ci BB Chevelle...You might want to rethink that stall!!! Unless they can guarantee that is the stall after install on your combo.......

Plus I thought you wanted to spray it? If that is the case then it will stall even higher. I'd suggest a 3200-3500 n2o converter.

Great numbers, especially considering how much driveline loss you have. Not to argue with Jimbob, but I'm with them at 580. You gotta be losing 25% with that setup, which works out to multiplying the rwhp # by 1.33 to get crank #s. Either way, it's gotta be fun to drive. Congrats Charlie...can't wait to see that thing in person.

Thanks guys. Forest green? Hell, I don't know. It's between medium and dark green. I put the stickies on her yesterday and she flat hooks after a bit of heat. It's not strong enough to suit me yet but I reckon that 871 would cure that. More power can come later after I tweak what I've got.
