Default Looking for recommended engine builder

I'm looking for someone to clearance a block and balance a rotating assembly. Possible a bore on a small block [mopar]. I have a quote from one shop and wanted to compare and / or find a reputable shop.

Any recommendations?

I'd prefer Seattle / Bellevue / Woodinville / Kirkland area.

Talk to TwoFast4Lv(Ellis) on here he has lots of connections. What exactly are you trying to build just out of curiousity?

I've been watching for ellis on MSN but seems he's always in the garage. I'm building a stroker LA engine; somewhere between 402 and 408ci.

You need to talk to Mike at "Accurate Engines" in Kirkland He did the Machine work on Jims 448RWHP LT4 and a few other Projects I have done in the last year

425-822-4776 and Ask for Mike!

Yeah I was sent there by a frien who recently got work done at Accurate. I called Mike this morning and got a $1k quote for a bore & clearance, balance, and bottom-end assembly. Seemed a bit high. Is that what I should expect to pay?

I would say that that is a decent quote. Having clearanced one block for a 383 I can say that it is a pain in the ***. Grind... clean... trial fit... grind... clean... trial fit... etc..etc over and over until it is all done. Not a lot of fun.

That seems very fair. I was $2,800 into my block alone(I supplied all parts) with new main caps by the time it was over. Good work is not cheap and here in Seattle area it is more

If you go with Mike I can say it will be done right ....Or I will go kick him in the ball's at his own house

There's a great place on the Pyuallup River Road between Tacoma and Pyuallup.
I'm gonna have them do my LT1 soon.
I can't for the life of me think of their name.....Senior moment.

If it it's is PED you might want to ask Jimbob how his last project there came out

I wouldn't let PED work on my toaster...

HMM, I had to pick my shortblock up after month because they decided doing grind for stroker, balancing, align boring, decking and machining for billet caps were to much for them to handle...Coarse they did manage to bore the block in a month and well....is 2 thousands taper two much....also wrong finish on bore....guess moly rings were something new to them.....Took to Dave Bliss(Bliss Performance) in Tacoma and he had it done in a week.....
