Default MAF questions...

So I'm retarded and got bit by the ls1 bug. I'm picking up an ls1 short block soon to build up and swap into my bird. Althought since I'm buying just a short block it doesn't come with any sensors/wiring/computer/etc.

A guy I work with drives a turbo DSM and picked up an ls1 z06 MAF awhile ago because evidentaly it's popular to swap to a GM MAF for more flow. It's an AC Delco unit that's still in the box.

On to my question, is there any difference between ls1 MAFs? I briefly looked in my computer at work and found 4 different part numbers between '98 camaro, '99 base vette, '01 zo6 and '02 zo6. Is there any real difference or can I pick his up for cheap?

might be able to pick it up cheap. i'll check my numbers on my maf tonight and post it up to see if they match one of the 4 from above.

doesnt work. I picked up a 2001 c5 for my 2001 camaro and nothing. the computer or chip in the maf arent compatable. and yes there are many different part #s. which are for many different parts.

sides a ZO6 has a LS6 not LS1. then again I guess it depends what harness/ECU you are using.

I haven't picked up the harness yet. Most of it will have to be custom wired anyways I was planning on making most of it my own (sans sensors, connectors, etc) What's the best pcm to go with? Is there any sort of translator I can use or reprogram the pcm to use this MAF?

I was under the impression that the ls6 was very similar to the ls1? Same concept, different components kind of thing? Like the LB9 vs L98/B2L?
