Default Ok, now what??

After unsuccessfully attempting to adjust the lifters due to a couple of collasped ones, I go out to fire her up for the weekly idle and an intake valve sticks open. I shut her off, restarted it and there it was, a consistent pop through the carb. I'm about to go postal on this thing and rip the entire top end out for new stuff.

Do you know any thing about work that was done to the engine besides just being stuffed in? Tight valve guides could explain some of your problems that is for sure.

All I know is that the previous owner put bigger cam, lifters and went to a full roller setup before he threw the ZZ502 in the car. I don't know what cam, lifters or pushrods he used. I do know it make 580 or so at the crank like it sits. What that equates to in cam size, I haven't a clue. I was considering going to solid roller but haven't made up my mind yet. That and the fact the holidays are getting in the way.

damn charlie...i leave for japan and come back, now you have a new car? i'll have to find you and see this beast...i know what the prob is....you need to take that engine out of there and sell it to me for my chev II. lol
