I have not gotten the flu or a cold annually since I was in grade school. But the last time I was so sick that I could not move was about 5-6 years ago. I was so sick I did not want to get out of bed for 2 days, but then it went away and I was fine. It is probably just your immune system adjusting.

Last time I got the flu was the last year that I got a flu shot. I found that every year I got a flu shot, I ended up with the flu, so I stopped getting them. Haven't had it since.

It is ironic, though, at this time last year I had a cold.. and I have one now.

Being exposed to the weather almost every day, I have noticed a definite corrolation between changes in the weather and catching cold. It's pretty rare that I actually get a full blown flu though. I did get one this year though, just a couple weeks ago. It had me pretty scared for a while as the symptoms didn't respond much to traditional treatment.

No, it's true.. the shot never gave me the flu. I just happened to get the flu every year that I got one... and never get it when I don't get them.

Sinusitis is similar to the flu in how you feel but it isn't the same thing. Most people out here (they are finding now) suffer from sinusitis and not the flu or colds as much as they thought.

I can tell when the weather changes from cold/dry to warm/soaked (yeah, there is a joke in there somewhere and I'm sure Rottluver will find it) cuz my sinues go nuts like a cold and or feeling like the flu coming on.
Mass packets of EmergenC ward it off pretty fast.

Yeah, the only people I know who ever get the flu are the ones who get the shots. It is not supposed to be live viruses in the shots anymore though. Timing?
