McLeod Street Twin with adjustable master cylinder. 'Nuff said...

It's pricey... but cheaper than buying 3 different clutches trying to find one that will hold up. Trust me on this...

THe Street twin is a very good choice! It can be had with every thing you need including a new steel braided line which I recommend

Textralia is holding up just fine for me. I might not drop it at the line with slicks on but it definately gets tested through the gears. Been in there for about 5k now although I didnt always have the heads, probably 1k on it with heads. Never a slip and grabs like a hobo on a ham sandwich. Its in the $980 range and comes with everything. Not sure how much the Twin Mc cost.

Street Twin is about $1200 shipped, including the adjustable big-bore master cylinder... and you can drop it at 7k rpms on slicks and it won't bat a lash. It will break everything else in your drivetrain because it hits so hard dropping it on slicks like that... but that's not a problem with the clutch.

With any other clutch I tried I was able to launch off the limiter and have the tires stick... with the McLeod, anything over 4k rpms hit the slicks so hard I just roasted them... even after a several second burn to get them nice and sticky. Because of that clutch, I need more sidewall to launch hard... going with a 28"x10.5x15 tire for next year.

But on the street... damn thing drives almost stock except for a little added pedal pressure. No chatter at all, no squealing, no nothing.

I have the Mcleod twin and so far I love it! I haven't beat on it yet so I don't know how it will hold up. But I'm betting that it will be just fine.......

Only one way to find out though.

Launch it hard off some drag radials at the track and you'll find the weak point in your drivetrain in a big hurry. Either the tires will give, or if they don't, something else will if things haven't been strengthened.

First time out with that clutch I was spinning the tires most of the time, and the one time I did halfway stick a good hard launch it blew up my Eaton heavy duty posi in my 12 bolt.

I'm afraid of that......... I have a carbon fiber Driveshaft and a DTS stage III rear end with hardened output shafts, gears, races, blah blah blah..... But now when I'm getting into the go pedal and I shift fast at the top of any gear under hard acceleration, the drivetrain makes a loud metalic swoosh sound as the engage happens. WTF!!! I talked to Ellis and he said my car should be fine.........but I'm still worried that my tranny will break if I shift too hard or launch to hard. So I'm gonna launch at around 3500rpms and see how she goes from there. Kinda worries me though! Its definately something you have to hear, its hard to explain the sound.

Oh and after I had it installed and I got it to the track I immediately broke my rear end. Remember? That's why I have my built rear now.
