Cam question.

Anyone running anything like this? It might be a lil mild(he he) for what I want. Looking for a big Cam that wife will be....unhappy driving on the street. I will be running 5.3 heads or milled 5.7s so clearence is an issue (I know people run MS3s with 5.3L heads).

the TSP magic stick 3 is a: 603in 609ext and clears with stock heads (not springs) and stock lifters. The duration listed is the converted dur. at the tappet dur is 233in and 242ex.
I had a cam that wasn't much off of that... 231/237 .598/.598 112 LSA and it sounded mean. But my slightly smaller cam I have now (230/232 .595/.585 112 LSA) doesn't sound that much tamer, and it actually put down better numbers.

If you're going to put a cam like that in your car, make sure you have the supporting mods... a cam that size's power band isn't going to like the stock rear gearing, and will want to live at over 6k rpms... making 4.10s pretty much a necessity in an M6.
Also, it'll want to breathe... so you'll want all your intake work done, as well as a high flowing exhaust and headers.
As for heads, I'd stick with stock sized 5.3Ls or 5.7L... any milling and you'll want to check the P to V clearance pretty carefully... even though some people have run cams that big, you don't want to be the one who has pistons and valves crashing together... afterall, once you get into milling, you're talking thousands of an inch, so not much room for error.

Mine is ~ 230....
