My old '00 SS used to do that. I was told it could be the LCA's needing to be tightened. I never got around to fixing that before I traded it in. I don't know if this is true or not, but you might try wrenching them down to see if that helps. Start small and work your way up kind of thing.

yea there are times when my stuff sounds like hell still. All the exaust hangers are rubber. Rubber wears and looses its elasticity so its not supporting the way it used to. Always check the inexpensive stuff first.

One of the big reasons I had my true duals welded up 100%. I HATE banging noises.

I had a mustang GT that had a problem with the ehaust pipes hitting the undercarage and I never got it fixed. It would only do it when I went over bumps. I would say try to get something rubbery in-between the car and pipe. That's if you can pin point where exactly its hitting. So how much quicker does the car feel now? And how do you like the sound difference?

Thats interesting! When I put my headers on my car became much much louder. I'm talking unbearble loud. I may have to consider swaping my current catback out for something a bit less aggressive.

Well, if it is wheel hop, buy some suspension parts & fix it quick! Or you WILL be buying a new rear end. Wheel hop is normal for these cars after you make them faster. Not as much on SSs & WS6s, but with a 6sp + mods, yeah, that's my guess. Back to Speed Secrets.....

They come with them, they are just not the best quality for performance.........same with the SS's, WS6's, Firehawks, etc

Correction: The 1LE Firehawks (at least the LS1 1LE's did) came with different ends, kinds a rubber/poly insert combo. Prolly not much better then the rest of the stock crap.

The SS comes with heavier sway bars which helps a little. But the LCAs, panhard bar & torque arm are weak (stamped steel) and twist under load. And if you lowered your car, the shocks don't function well at that level (plus it realigned the suspension geometry which makes things worse).

You can fix it all pretty cheap, relatively speaking. If you go look at the suspension album in my link you will see what I did. My car launches staright, solid & true, tires spinning (street) or dead hooking (track).

So they're the same parts then right? I've already replaced mine as well with UMI dual adjustable stuff. My point was that at his power level right now I dont think he's overpowering the factory stuff to give him his noise. I know its not the best, but he's not on nitrous when he has the trouble. Just in the rain. IF you ask Sam Strano he'll say that all wheel hop is due to shocks. I think there is more to it than just shocks personaly, but he does know his suspension stuff very well. LCA's hold the axles true in line and maintain thrust angle, but the componants that control up and down axle movements are the springs and shocks. LCA's move with the movement of the axle up and down so I can see where Strano is coming from. Not saying that he is god on the subject, but being a 2 time SCCA champ he is well informed. Is this car lowered? I didnt see it in sig. A very cheap alternative to buying new stuff would be just to box what you already have if you knew how to weld or had a cheaper welder person to go to. Just another option for that stuff.
