Yeah I don't know that the "average" Honda owner is going to be buying a GTI though, shoot I can't even afford a new GTI. Although I think VW's quality control is pathetic it does have some cool cars, they just fall apart.
In fact the VW crowd in general seems a little different then the ricer crowd....definately related though

Those commercials are great... I like the yellow hood scoop one, and he says "what das dis do" lol Now the market is different. Honda, Ford focus, eclipse, etc all tend to be the ricer crowd. My wife has a Mazda 3, so I have went to a Mazda board before, they are different than the ricer boards..they are not into the big wings and typical ricer type things and even make fun of ricers. The VW owners seem to be a little more conservative too, I have seen riced out GTI's before, but I've seen riced out Camaro's and T/A's too. The other day I seen a ford taurus(around a 1999) with a huge wing on the back, and looked very stupid.

Even my wife laughed when she saw the first one on TV last night. My 34 year old brother drives an older 88 Jetta. He keeps it in great shape and it's a great little car. Good stuff.
