Angry No racing for Doug for a while

We just got back from the doctor and the new x-ray shows a break/smush of one of the small bones (sesamoid) in/under his big toe - so its a walking boot for at least 3 weeks, pretty tuff to do burnouts in one of those.

what a crappy way to get time off work

Damn he had to run over his right foot huh? Sorry Doug, I hope you're not in much pain, but that's still funny.

Actually it is my left foot. But I can't put any pressure on it so I can't hold the brake.
I am going to try to race @ Bremerton next Saturday though.

That sucks Doug.

Remember what I told you I did to mine on the phone the other night? It broke in 3 places and squashed two of my toes like you stepped on a grape. 40 stitches later. Also mashed the bones in the ball of my foot into the soft tissue and I still feel it to this day. Lots of scar tissue there still breaking up. I had 2 months off work for that little mis hap. I had to keep it elevated for 2 weeks straight. If I would have had steel toed boots on I would have lost the front half of my foot. Woulda pinched it right off.

You got off lucky.

That just might be a good idea. Let me make sure I don't have to take my daughter to work and pick her up. I will call you tomorrow morning.

Leave it to an ER to miss a break. It isn't the first time I have heard such a thing. I am sorry to hear of your trouble though, Doug. It is a funny story but not really a funny event.

You have noooooo idea.

In late '91 I was up in the Santa Cruz area for a training class.....on the last day we were doing gun take-aways/gun retention and the guy I was partnered with was an old buddy of mine I had known for like 15 years......we got a lil overboard and I ended up hearing many snaps, crackles & pops in my left wrist........it swelled up the size of a grapefruit, turned blue and got me a free trip to the ER. Docs looked at it, took X-Rays, etc and determined that I had a "strained wrist", yet prescribed me vicodin for the pain.
Got back home (Santa Barbara) the next day and went to the ER there since it was still HUGELY swollen and causing more then minor pain.........X-Rays and MRI showed a SHATTERED wrist........as in many many many of the bones were broken and displaced all through-out my wrist.......so yeah, ER's blow chunks.

Oh yeah, feel better Doug.

Sometimes the swelling is too much for an X-Ray to show a break or breaks. I had to wait over a week for swelling to go down a bit for a conclusive X-Ray. My foot was twice the size it normally was. Nice colors of black, dark blue, dark purple, pink and red.
