I have had bot TJ and Ellis tune my car and both will do you good. However, TJ has a dyno jet with A/F equipment. That's why I went all the way down there. I felt better seeing my A/F. And thank god I did! My MAF was filthy and wouldn't give readings.

That took us a while to figure out!

(could be a stupid q)

Well the dyno isn't just for numbers. They are nice, but the intent was to get a good hold of safe A/F ratio's. He also found some detonation and fixed that as well. So it was well worth the trip and money.

TJ works mainly (not strictly) on GM cars like ours, and it'll cost you! But it's worth it. let me put it to you this way! I paid $350 to get a tune in texas way back in the day and didn't get the service or A/F that TJ offered. He really works hard and pays attention to the little things. He know's what he's doing.

It took TJ about 6-7 hours from start to finish. I got there about 1:00pm and didn't get out of there till after 8:00pm. But we ran into some issues and he stayed late and worked through them. TJ even called Ellis!

Ellis actually played a big role in my car getting tuned CORRECTLY that day. I would recommend calling TJ and talking to him about it. Ask him what he charges. Its a business............just call and ask him!!!

Ellis will do a good job too. And he did a good job on my tune as well. It ran strong after he tuned it. To be honest, the car felt like it had less power after he tuned it, but when I went to the track It ran much faster. We concluded (Ellis and I) that after the tune the power was coming in smoothly instead of violently. Either way, my ET's were faster! Remember that Ellis??

I just like seeing the A/F. I like the fact that I can see how safe its running. You know what I mean!!

I had TJ do mine and was actually there yesterday as well. He checked it out for me to see if I was having issues. Ellis I think will be a little cheaper Tom is usually 450 for a dyno tune. I'll vouch for his work as well, my car was having issue down low when I took it to him and he cleared it all up and tuned it just right.
I've had him do other work for me as well but your just interested in a tune so I'm just talking about that. He's one of the premier tuners on the west coast, and has a stellar reputation. You wont go wrong by taking your car to him. While I was at his shop he had a customer drive up from Cali to look at his vette. Thats speaks for itself.

If you hadn't said specificaly local to you I would have recommended Tom right away. I could cruise over and meet you there to say hello if you go there. Make it a morning appt. His shop is real easy to find.

From Puyallup...............it was about an hour and 45 minutes. It was a nice cruise though. Had the tunes cranked and the cruise control on at about 75mph. Nice drive.

And your cam should be good for the drive. Your not going to romp on it and the RPMs will be relatively low. It'll be fine!

BTW, what are the specs of the cam you just had installed?

Damn..........what a nice cam! I want a bigger cam. But I figure I'll wait till I get a stroker motor. No sense in buying a cam If I can't use it for very long.

Are you going to TJ's and when? Bobby only has the one wheel and I know when I asked there were a few pair in the Seattle area. So if you wouldnt mind being a delivery person I'll give ya 10 bucks to get them and bring them down with ya

Bobby is down here next to me. I just posted a thread looking for wheels. Bobby has one wheel he'll give me but I dont know if I can find a single wheel up there or if I have to buy a pair. I'll let you know what deal comes my way. I might be able to find a wheel here as well at the junkyard for $20.
