Default Some questions...nitrous advice..?

Well, I have went awhile with no upgrades, so the itch it starting. I have a few issues I want to resolve, first is the stock 10 bolt, I added 3:42 gears back around 2 years ago, all has held up great with tons of passes down the track and you all know on nw fbody I made alot of passes last year. Only problem is gear whine, it is super annoying.. I really don't want to spend a fortune now on a moser and would a better option be a stock rear? For cost of adding some new quieter gears I would think it would be cheaper to get another rear, I just can't do the install because of back problems. Then I have been really thinking about a 100 shot, but I want the most reliable and no chance of oooops I need a rebuild. I would rather not have it, if I can't use it safe. It would be nice for track times. I figure with a good tune, a 100 shot and 1.50 60 foot 11's could be close since I brought my 60 foot times down to 1.59 with light launch. What do I need to tune, safety options I would need and max shot to be safe(super safe). Advice appreciated

A 100 shot sounds like a good number with your mods. That is what I am running right now in mine with the same stall and rear. It hits hard enough to turn some good numbers (don't look at the hp numbers in my sig since they are a year old with much less done to the car). To be "super safe" go with a dry shot. NX makes a great kit. I would pm Ellis for help and advise.

Where have you been?? Haven't seen you in quite a while. What have you been up to?

To answer some of your nitrous questions..........the car could more than handle 100hp shot of nitrous. I would go with a dry kit due to the ease of installation and what not! Also I would go with a window switch and WOT switch. With those you should be able to run 150shot with no problems.........but a 100hp shot will work well too.

You mark my words................and anyone here who sprays nitrous on there car can confirm or deny (which they won't), once you start spraying you will only want more. Its like a drug, its so easy to up the jets and spray just a bit more. You say now, "I won't want to risk blowing my motor or blah blah blah".........if you put nitrous on your car, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Have fun and you will need a new 12bolt rear end if you get some spray.

Ya, thats always been my fear..always wanting more lol. This year has been crappy, after I had foot surgery the screws started to loosen once I went back to work so was taking vicodin like candy for awhile for the pain. Then about a month ago something must have healed to the point I don't need anything for pain very often and they didn't have to remove the titanium screws. When I returned to work in April I was totally out of vacation time since I had been off since December and trying to get used to working from 12:15a.m to 8:15a.m was tough to get used to again. Then all the people on my shift who couldn't take time off since I was out, took it, which didn't leave me any time to go to the track. Now I built some time up, but too late.. I have only put about 1,000 miles on the Camaro this year..been sitting most of the time. I went the the first couple CCC races and that was it. Did a couple car shows with the Camaro Cruzers also.

Well you got the next 4 months or so till Feb when the track opens back up.

However if yours schedule permits and weather is cooperative, there is 2 more TnT's October 20-21.

I'm hoping to have my cage finished in time to hit those and maybe the bracket race at PR on the 15th.

Good to hear from ya again. Yea, just do a dry 100 and you'll be fine, all the manufacturers offer a basic dry kit, except NX, which they are finally working on one. Think about doing a dual nozzle dry as it will generally hit a little softer and allow your 10 bolt a longer safe life. If ya have any specific questions give me a holla, good luck.
