Default Thanks Don and Doug!!

Big thanks to Don and Doug. Got the headers installed over the course of the weekend. Doug and I got it torn apart and the the headers installed Saturday in about 7 hours. Cleaned up the shop and headed home. The Y pipe was banging the whole way.

Went to Don's today for a bit of BFH work and final test fits. Doesn't bang anywhere and tucks up pretty sweet. Had to bang the y pretty good and a bit of the floorboard on the the drivers side. The passenger side was perfect.

Thanks again Don and Doug for all your help. Couldn't have done it without either of ya!

Outstanding! Gonna have enough time to tune it for the track? Sorry I couldn't stick around & help Rick. I did manage to make a big dent in the honey-do list, so I'm hoping I can make it on Sunday....weather permitting. (they're calling for rain at the moment)

Thanks again Don. I'll have that 15mm socket for ya Sunday along with the Crown Royal. Did I get ya hooked on those Montecristo Whites?

Thanks Howard. I'm done modding it until springtime.

Seat of the pants tells me it's going to be close to 12 flat after the stall and headers Steve. Maybe a bit overzealous, but my car seems to respond well to mods and put down good numbers before the stall and headers. 12.7's were there in good weather.

It runs pretty good now Mark. I do need to get some new plugs and some plug wire sheathing. In retrospect I should have gotten the race style. I'm going to be tightening the header bolts a couple more times this week and the passenger side is a major PITA. I'm also getting rid of all those damned posts on the coil packs for the valve cover covers and the studs on top of the other hold down bolts. They'll all be replaced with normal bolts and I'm only installing half of them on the passenger side.

My hands look like I ran a cheese grater across them and then took a razor blade to them. My neck and back are sore as hell. I could've really used a Geisha the last couple nights.

Anybody know who makes longer plug wires??

I think there are a couple places that sell a kit to fab your own wires for the LS1's. Or you could look into the coil relocation kit. I kind of like that option the best. Makes it alot easier to work on the motor with them out of the way and its also alot easier to take them out if needed. 2 bolts and they come right out in a nice little bundle.

I'm getting there. It was running rough. I changed the plugs after work tonight and re-tightened the header bolts again. Those damned posts for the dress up covers are a ****** joke, I took every damned one of them out and will machine them flat at work tomorrow in the lathe.

Still not running perfect. To me at least, but much better than it was. Or maybe it's just the way the headers rumble that I'm not used to yet.
