Exclamation Nitrous 101?

Hello Everyone

I am in huge need of a little extra power last couple of weeks, wanna destroy some ferraris Just as little as 100-150hp.

Though, as a newbie, I have no idea what to buy... There is Dry and Wet, i can tell the difference between them but not an expert. There are also extra accesories [sp?] like purge, bottle heater etc. Besides these what about a new fuel pump and other parts need to be replaced?

Your help will be very much appreciated!

Talk to Ellis. He seems to be the 10 second nitrous god at the moment.

I have a dry 100 shot in mine. You don't necessarily need the heater or remote opener right away, but they might come in handy sometime down the road.

Although, you should not need it to destroy a few Ferraris. I don't think I ever had to use mine against the ones I faced. Granted, we are not talking Enzo's or anything like that. Most of the "daily driver" type Ferraris are easy pickings.

If you want any kind of consistency you need to get a bottle warmer though. And if you run a wet shot, which you probably won't, you will need a bottle warmer. In this climate, especially right now, your dry shot will be less than half of what it is jetted for without the warmer.

yEAh i think i need the remote bottle opener and heater rsince I am planning to place the bottle in the trunk. Oh Also purge thing sounds cool too

I guess if I go with a dry kit i need to replace fuel injectors
and if i go with wet change the fuel pump?

God this is so complicated! Any specific brands u advise? or all the same? How do you refill the bottle btw?

That'd be so cool if someone could say "yekta this is exactly what u need ... period"

That's why I recommend talking to Ellis. He has his set-up so well tuned right now it is not even funny. He can point you in the right direction. There are good kits and options available from some of the site sponsors also. Look at Nitrous Outlet and Nitrous Direct.

Nitrous can be a bit expensive when it comes time to fill up. Last I looked it was more that 4 bucks a pound to fill up my 15 pound bottle. Figure you can get 3 good passes down the track with a full bottle.

As for brands, I have NX. They seem to have parts to do just about anything and kits that are pretty much plug and play for the LS1. And most manufacturer's kits will include a purge. So you just need to find a kit that contains all the parts for your application. Nitrous is nitrous when it comes to filling the bottle.
