Ellis may have found an answer for speed denstiy tuning over the weekend. And it is NOT HP Tuners! Ryan, Jimbob, Ellis & I installed a new system in my car Friday. It took about 10 hours including the basic tune.

True it still has some issues that need to be worked out, but racehead & I tried tuning my car in SD mode with HPT one Saturday & gave up. This system looks MUCH more promising. With luck we will get some time to tweak it in soon so Ellis will feel comfortable offering it for sale to you guys.

It idles SO much better already that I can't hardly believe it. And the real selling point for this system is WOT control that we haven't even touched yet. I'm sure you will see a post or 2 from him / us in the near future, so stay tuned. (pun intended!)

I didn't have any problems tuning with HP Tuners in speed density. The only problems were due to the fact that I didn't have a wideband
Maybe being FI adds other variables to the table that I didn't have to deal with.

Is this new system you're using replace the factory PCM and can update in real time? Because if so I know what it consists of and it's a VERY nice setup for the cost. If not I'll shutup then.

Nate

The only true way to do SD is to use a true SD computer

Any thing else is a waste of time

I can't remember the name, but the initials are MS.....and my O2s are what killed me doing SD with HPT Nate. That + it isn't true SD from what I can tell. And like you said this system does the real-time changes. It took Ryan about 5 minutes to get my car to idle better than it has since it was stock.

I'm hoping we can get the bugs worked out & document the whole thing so Ellis can offer it to others. So far it looks very promising, and much cheaper than some other choices. Tho the spendy ones will do everything. My setup doesn't have the timing control.

I'm debating buying a set of the MSDs, it's just hard to justify $600 for them.

I see where "Jeggs" has a "tune up kit" coils, wires, and plugs for $681 (pg. 195) Thats still a lot of money $$$ If I had it right now I think Id spend It The word is that you will get multiple sparks from these new coils and a cleaner (mo power) burn.
