What is this?

- not long trips, cabin capcity, fuel cells too small
- goes straight, lack of trim tabs (though can't see all of that)
- close to shore, radar too small for long distances
- odd to have the cabin 'wrapped' in what looks like a non-metal deck with plastic (see the grommets) over the cabin openings
- about 12' off the surface
- not made for lifting though what looks to be 'leaf springs' would indicate it could handle rough waters
Overall it is interesting. John doesn't feel it has any military capabilities. My guess is NOAA for observation of shallow wetlands such as the new areas created by blowing dams for spawning grounds. They are notorious for building strange looking watercraft keeping the public away with CG chasing anyone off. It happens up in Discovery Bay since I can remember, a high school classmate went to work for them and he appeard in town when these interesting looking craft would show up. Never would explain exactly what he was doing but we all shrugged since it was just common.
Cool find, we had fun looking over all the pictures pointing out what capabilities it could have as well as could not.

That looks sorta like a jet to me. Any opinions?
BTW, catamarans are much more stable for their size in rough seas than single hulled boats.
Great spy shots!!!

It still doesn't make sense though but it may be the 'outline' as we were a bit confused by the use of a braided line wrapped marine style for no reason.
Mark, military isn't fessing up either.

It would be fairly stable while moving. It it has to stop underway in the ocean during a storm. Count me out. I will stick to submarines...
