Default MeagSquirt Update

Ellis / Ryan,

I finally got the power filter installed today (on the power wire by the PCM). It still has the hickup when you blip the throttle. The battery in my laptop died so the software wasn't running by then, so I don't know if it still resets.

I can say the a/f is just about perfect at idle & it starts right up & idles perfectly. And that hesitation is gone too.

Hopefully when I get back from Florida next week I'll have time to play with it. THings have been nuts at work.....

I wonder if Megasquirt would be a good choice to convert my '71 over to EFI with ? Is it comparable to FAST XFI, or Accel gen 7 ?

Stop talking ****, have you even used MS? It's simple, if Ellis can tune fbodies he for sure can tune megasquirt. He's only using it for fuel anyways, which is even easier than spark tuning.

It could just be fueling. Blipping the throttle is a fairly dramatic change in flow requirements. Like I said, when I get back I plan to spend some time playing. But I was leary of doing much until the filter got installed in case it really was a big power surge.....I didn't want to fry the module & be stuck out on the highway somewhere.

You should stop by & take a gander Bill. It has a pretty nice "live" interface where you can tweak things on the fly. It's amazing how quick Ryan & Ellis got the idle fixed. And it is SD, so it should work fine on the 71.

Gotta love the nice warm feeling in here! Ryan did all the work I was just watching and learning. I have two MS units here to install. one may go on a blue car with a couple of hair dryers..but I am not sure yet
