Ellis,
From what I can tell from the new rules, I believe now that my M2000 helmets will not be sufficient for the ORR. So I found some nice looking SA 2005 helmets that look pretty good. Take a look at the attached picture & let me know if any of them interest you. They have a white one too....paymnet for working on my tranny?
Mark
PS And if anyone needs a helmet, I'll have two 1 yr old XXL M2000 full face Bells for sale. $50 ea. They are red with designs (1 has a tiger's head on it....don't recall what the 2nd one has) I'll post a picture when I get home.

Mark,
"M" helmets are useable as long as you wear a Nomex hood sock(cost $20-30) under it. See page 22 of the online rules. Yes, they would like you to ha "SA" helmets. Go with what you have at least until you are sure you are going to continue with ORR.

Ya know, that is what I thought too Jeff, but the 06 rules say
HELMETS, page 23: Replace reference to “SA95” with “SA2000” and delete last sentence. Paragraph “B” change to read, “A Nomex head sock is required for
Drivers/Co-drivers with long hair or any facial hair and is recommended for everyone else.”
And page 23 says
"Helmets: A SNELL Foundation approved SA95 (or later) helmet with shatterproof eye protection is required. NOTE: The helmet standard will be raised to SA2000 for the 2006 season."
So I'm kind of confused now.....except I know SA2000 is above my M2000.

Sorry for the bad info, It would make too much sense. Hey Boyce and I have a new toy to play with. I bought a twin turbo vette. Check out the links for a pic and dyno sheet. 600rwhp and 600 ft/lbs torque. If you are willing to max boost can get to 650rwhp. This is the same set up that John Lingenfelter hit 226 mph for Car and Driver.
Now I just need someone to buy the race car in the sig.

if this was true,
then wearing a nomex lined "M" rated helmet would be ok ?
I'm pretty sure that the Arai Racing Helmets are all nomex lined
