Default 78- Chevy PS pump?

SCSB 4x4, New engine going in. He got new pulleys for it from March. I used a puller and heat on the old PS pump but ruined the pulley. He has a new Pump and the new March pulley so I dont want to F%#! it up. So my question is do you have to press the pulleys on the shaft? I used a heat gun on the March pulley but it wouldnt expand enough to slip onto the shaft.

Well the Pulley was .006 smaller than the diameter of the shaft.
