Kenny & Sherry talked with Barb about this & she knows what we want. No guarantees, but she said she would try to get us some passes as time allows.

So no gaurentee, but maybe!! That works for me. Thanks

I should be there, but I plan on racing with the bottle which means I won't be that consistant. We'll see what happens though.

I wouldn't exactly term 4 points more from twice the number of cars as getting killed. I still think we should give out a trophy for the best wins-to-competitors ratio, because numbers wouldn't matter for that one.

From last year....

Car Club Challenge rules / regs for legal racing: (I'll revise them as I find more info)

CCCA 2006 Race Rules
No alcohol consumption by participants.
Permanent number required to compete
Staging lanes are closed when first car crosses the line at the front of the staging lanes. (MG - this rule might be ammended to allow racers to compete in multiple events)
If there is a bye in a round (due to an odd number of cars), then the racer with the best reaction time in the previous round will receive the bye run
Races completed through the quarter-finals, that are canceled, by rain or curfew may be decided on reaction time from quarter-finals
NHRA "Street Legal" cars or trucks only (no motorcycles)
DOT approved tires required (Bare cords not permitted, front non-DOT okay)
Exhaust must route through mufflers
No Electronics (per NHRA definition) And no G-tech timing devices.
Transmission brakes, two-steps and line-locks okay
Only racers of CCCA member car clubs may receive trophies
Current NHRA and track safety rules apply at all times
Vehicles must be registered for street use in any state or province (No trip permits) and registration must match the ven# of that vehicle.
No cars faster than 10.00 or above 135 MPH
Any rules disputes are to be handled by the Race Director and representatives from at least 3 member clubs.
The Race Director may exclude racers in violation of CCCA, NHRA or Track safety rules.
36" crank height applies (No Monster Trucks Please)

Other rules that apply:

Must have door handles (on the outside)
Limited window tinting
Long pants, sleeved shirts, normal shoes (no sandals)
External shut-off switch IF the battery has been relocated
No leaking fluids
Working neutral safety switch & reverse lock-out (autos only)
No driving with your hood open ANYWHERE at the track
Windows rolled up while on the race track (from the time they pull you up into the staging lanes before the burnout box until you are on the return road)

Progressive requirements (inclusive as you go faster)
13s
Drive shaft loop
Helmet - Snell 95, 2000 or 2005 rated

12s
Longer wheel studs - This is where they started looking at my car. With factory wheels you are supposed to be able to race without them. The NHRA rule says the threads must engage a minimum of the stud diameter, which all stock setups do. But on faster cars with stickies, the tracks like to see them stick out past the lugnuts. So depending on which track you go to, and who the tech guy is, you might need them, even tho it might not be "required".

11.49
Roll bar - 5-6 pt (req'd for 11.0 - 13.49 in a vert)
SFI jacket

10s
SFI tranny shield / blanket / scatter shield?
SFI Flex plate / flywheel (Don says these 2 are required at 11.49.....I will verify)
SFI balancer
SFI 5pt harness

and I'm not sure where these come into play, but they are required at some point....
Aftermarket axles and axle-retention device mandatory
Cars with IRS must have 360-degree axle retention loop on each axle

9s/135mph (not legal for CCC)
Roll cage - 8-12 pt (req'd for 10.99 in a vert)
Racing suit - pants, gloves, shoes, helmet liner

Need to update that helmet spec, Snell 95 is no longer valid.
