Anyone here from Eugene?

Anyone here from Eugene? My wife and I are looking at moving to Eugene and I wanted to know a few things about housing, weather, emmisions for my car 
, and a few other things. Let me know if you are from this area and I will commence the questioning

my parents used to live there.
weather is nice,
winter isn't very cold, not much snow/ice
summers don't get too awefull hot. couple weeks of low to mid 90's
rain's alot less than western Washington (Seattle/Bremerton)
housing prices are kind of high for oregon, cause of the college
lots of rentals, it's a "transient" (college) town, very liberal
property taxes are pretty high
no emissions testing in Lane County
people are really nice,
girls at the nudy bars are hot (again due to being a college town)
not alot of performance shops (or a big car scene)
closest tracks are Woodburn and PIR

Thanks for the reply man. I guess I will have to go a year in a town with a small car scene 
The weather sounds really nice though! We cant decide if we want to just buy a house or rent. We have dogs so the renting may be a problem. If anyone else lives in Eugene hit me up on here

As you may have seen in a previous Oregon thread, I live in Corvallis. Corvallis is around 30-45 minutes away from Eugene. Both towns are college towns, quiet, spacious, and have generally mild weather, like Kraut explained. Salem, another 30 minutes north of Corvallis, is the capitol, and is a much nicer place to live and work IMO. What will you be doing in Eugene?
