Default Moving to Portland, OR

Ok, I've thrown in the towel! It's just too hot for me in Atlanta!

Actually, a job is bringing me to Portland at months end! Can't wait to get there. Where are the places to hang out?

Nice!

Unfortunately, there isn't a huge F-body following in the Portland/Vancouver area. We welcome any, and all though.

Forget the umbrella. Using one is like putting a neon sign on your head saying "I'm not from around here". When it rains you ignore it, get a little wet. I've lived around here all my life and have never owned an umbrella. Nor would anyone I know bother with one. When it rains, it's a nice steady rain. Not that 8 inches in 24 hours **** they get in the gulf.

And we just like to keep the myth alive that it rains a lot here. You are actually moving to one of the most beautiful places in the country. My car in the picture below is 1 1/2 hours away from Portland, so is the desert. You are going to want to put some miles on your car.

Nice car! It is beautiful country. Can't wait to get there.

Is it because there's no interest in F-bodies in that area or are they just hard to find?

There seems to be a larger F-body community up north in Washington. I live in the NW corner of Oregon and there aren't very many around here. Even fewer that are taken good care of and modded. And the owners don't seem inclined to club up together. A lot of car shows for classics, a few that are open to all years. Nothing like what I see talked about going on in the East and South.

There is the Columbia River Camaro club (I think they do allow Firebirds in there as well) They use to be highly active but I dont know anymore.

Well, the 4th gens certainly are not abundant around here by any means. Nothing wrong with liking/owning the minority of cars though. It makes the nicer ones stand out even more.

Here's my jackstand queen getting ready for the LS1.

Tomorrow could be the day I fire up the beast. I'll have to give Mikey a run, Bobby is out of my league with his 454.

Mikey97 has a 388 going in and 93tawicked1 has a 454 going in. My lil ole 347 is afraid to get off the porch now

LOL,,, you guys are killing me. And Cody, I believe that was YOUR idea to set that hood up there (damn Idaho transplants). I'm setting a fashion statement I guess, you guys will be following suit before too long, don't deny it....

Chris, I'm anxious to see how much of an improvement your newest mods make.
