The Work Begins My appraiser told me yesterday he was turning in the paperwork to get my check for me. If the ins company agrees, I will get just under $19k, which will pay for my new car + the perf parts that got ruined. Not as much as I was hoping for, but enough (I hope).
So today the disassembly begins. The new car handles lke crap comapred to mine, it's all over the lanes on I5. So the suspension, wheels & tires are getting swapped over now so I can drive the new TA for a while. And it looks like I'm going to need to....
The Avi has a head gsaket going away.
This is why the GM dealer pulled it before Cory bought the motor in the first place. So it will come out AGAIN & go to the Accurate Engines where I will have Mike build me a real motor. And my plan now is to put the GT2-3 cam into my 402 & drop that into the Avi.
Then I will drop the nasty motor into the TA later. It should run a 9 when I'm done, but my thoughts are now to leave the 6sp in the car & make it into more of a pro touring car, so it won't see much drag racing. But my plan changes daily so we'll see.

Glad to see that it won't be long before your back into the loop. Man racing a 6-speed is great. There is mucho challenge to it, which, imo, makes it more interesting all the way around. You won't be able to stay away from drag racing. Got any pics of your new project?

I love rowing thru the gears....but I hate replacing parts every month. That's the real reason I've been racing an auto. The red car has been drag racing for 4 years now & other than when the tranny mount bolt fell out, I have not had an issue with the drive train. But maybe it's time for a change....that Jerico air shifter looks AWSOME Chad!
And I am quite pleased with how much better the new car handles now with the front suspension parts I installed yesterday. Absolutley stable on I-5 coming home from the lab last night. Today I will work on to the rear of the car....

Glad to here that your recoving from the wreck and moving forward. I saw you go by this morning on 4th st I was in a left turn lane. Car looks nice and clean. You know you have to race it at lease once before you mod it.
